During Computer Science Education Week (December 5th - 9th, 2016), students from all over the world
will be participating in The Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer
science. Students and teachers can
choose from a variety of activities for
kindergarten and up. "Coding" refers to computer programming. This is important because computers are and will continue to be a big part of our future. We want to support our students to gain the ability to create technology. Various classes are taking part in "coding" activities this week. Here are a few pictures of students coding. Special thanks goes out to Ms. Calverley for organizing this learning opportunity to support our future computer programmers!

Grade 8s Learning about Water Systems
Presently our Grade 8 students are learning about water systems. Ms. Breckenridge is not only teaching them about water systems but she is also engaging them in thinking about solutions to our water problems. A key learning target for this is for students to become aware of different ways to conserve water. The pictures below show the students working together to brainstorm different ways to conserve water at home, school, and the community.
